“Haul’n Reds” Sees Spots!

On a beautiful December Saturday, 55 anglers on 20 boats competed in the third annual RedSpot “Count the Spots” Redfish Tournament. December 8 is the traditional date for this event and weather can always be a gamble this time of year. Luckily, the conditions were perfect, and lots of fish were caught. First team back to the check in was Team “All Keys Gas Co.” with Ernie and Austin Oskey, and Kaelin Olayer who opted to bring back a redfish with no spots to capture the first bonus prize of the day.

Several teams checked back in with 3, 4, and 5 spots until Team Banks Engineering (Clay & Todd Rebol, JC Savasuk) enter 2 reds with a total of 10 spots. They were quickly bumped by Team “Outta Line” (Andrew Wilson, Gary Jenkins, Jason Stump) with a 2 fish total of 11 spots.

But the team with the right two fish was Team ‘Haul’n Reds”

(Mike & Heather McCarty, and Bill Conner). Their first redfish won the second bonus prize with 11 spots, added to their 3 spot second fish gave them a 14 spot total and the win!

The real winner was The Charlotte County “Toys For Tots” program. All of the RedSpot teams gave generously and we were able to donate two full bins of toys to be given to deserving kids this holiday.
